Sœur Rabiaa Moutran
Née en 1966 à Zahlé, au Liban, d’une famille de six frères et sœurs, (dont le Père Jean qui chante également sur ce disque), Sœur Rabiaa Moutran appartient à la Congrégation des Religieuses Basiliennes Chouérites. Sa Communauté réside au Couvent de l’Annonciation, à Zouk-Mikael, au Liban. Sa voix magnifique, qu’elle considère comme un don du Seigneur, est l’instrument de l’expression de sa foi.
Diplômée universitaire en formation des novices et accompagnement spirituel, elle s’est consacrée à la catéchèse par le chant et la musique à l’Ecole Notre-Dame de la Paix à Dora, (Liban) de 1989 à 1993, ainsi qu’au Collège Saint-Joseph à Nazareth (Galilée) entre 1994 et 2004.
Elle a suivi des cours de chants avec Sœur Marie Keyrouz à Paris et a reçu une formation en musique byzantine en Grèce (Sœur Rabiaa Moutran a réalisé trois disques de liturgie byzantine).
Soliste et animatrice de la chorale des Religieuses Basiliennes Chouérites du Couvent de l’Annonciation, à Zouk-Mikael, elle prépare actuellement une licence en liturgie et un diplôme en musique et vocalises à l’Université Saint-Esprit de Kaslik, au Liban.
Sœur Rabiaa Moutran
Sister Rabiaa Moutran was born in 1966 in Zahlé, Lebanon, in a family of six brothers and sisters who are all singers (one of them Father Jean sings with her on this CD). She belongs to the Congregation of the « Basiliennes Chouérites » nuns and lives in the Community in the Convent of Annonciation of Zouk Mikayel, near Jounieh, in Lebanon. She use her wonderful voice, that she considers being a God given gift, as the expression of her faith.
Holder of a master’s degree for singing teachers training, she devotes herself to catechesis by chant and music teaching at the school of « Notre-Dame de la Paix » in Dora (Lebanon) from 1989 untill 1993, and at the junior high school of « Saint-Joseph » in Nazareth (Galilee) from 1994 till 2004.
She also attended singing lessons with Sister Marie Keyrouz in Paris and passed an exam in Byzantine music in Greece (Sister Rabiaa Moutran has recorded three albums of Byzantine liturgy).
Soloist and conductor of the « Basiliennes Chouérites » nuns’ choir of the Convent of Annonciation in Zouk Mikayel, she is actually working on a liturgical degree and a singing exercise and music degree at the Holly Spirit University of Kaslik, in Lebanon.
