Karawan was created in 1994, in the village of Ibillin, in Galilee.
Conducted by Nabeeh Awwad, this mixed choir is composed of musicians and singers from Arab Israeli, Christian and Muslim origins.
The group interprets traditional oriental chants, stemming from the old and classical repertoires of great eastern artists, composers and musicians, whose memory they revive. They also sing their own compositions, as well as post classical Andalusian works, mixing different musical styles.
Karawan has participated in numerous concerts and festivals, both in Israel and abroad.

Karawan has participated to the concert « D’une seule voix », in Jerusalem, the 25th November 2004, as well as the French tour « D’une seule voix ».
