Benjamin Valette

Benjamin Valette was born in 1986 and took up the guitar at the age of 7 with Florentino Calvo. Five years later he entered Pedro Ibanez's class in the CRR in Paris and trained with him for some ten years. Both as a soloist and as a member of the various musical ensembles to which he belongs, his wide repertory bears witness to the breadth of his personal range.

In 2008 he met the violinist Mathieu Névéol and joined his classical and gipsy group NOMAD lib' - an original ensemble performing in duets, trios and quartets. Then followed three records and numerous concerts in France, in the context of prestigious festivals. With the vocal ensemble "Chronochromie", he recorded the CD "Garcia Lorca – El Ruisenor Andaluz" (Ad Vitam records / Harmonia Mundi) which includes Tedesco's Romancero Gitano for guitar and choir, three Canciones Antiguas Espanolas (duet with the singer Mélodie Ruvio), Invocation et Danse by Joaquin Rodrigo and Le Tombeau sur la mort de Debussy by Manuel de Falla, both solo works. Benjamin Valette belongs to the professional plectrum orchestra MG21, trending chiefly towards contemporary music.

In 2012, he founded the guitar quartet Quatuor Eclisses with Gabriel Bianco, Arkaitz Chambonnet and Pierre Lelièvre, with whom he toured in France and abroad (Romania, Jordan, USA, Indonesia, Algeria, Mexico...).

The orchestra of the Paris Opera calls upon him for some of its performances at the Opera Garnier.
